What Cured You?

She asked me, “What cured you?”

Medicine, God, Faith, Family, Love, Luck?

I was afraid to pick one and leave the others

out

I stared at the melting snow dripping from the roofs’ edge onto the horses silver mane

She tells me this copper colored horse is called a silver dapple

He stood still with a slight bow of his head just so the water would

fall, shower, baptize, him

I had my answer

It was beyond the outcome of the disease

surrender

Surrender cured me

Surrender stitched into every second of the day

10 years past

I am still being saved by her
